The Alaska Black Business Expo is a significant event dedicated to business and professional development, held in honor of Black History Month. It is organized in collaboration with the Alaska Black Business Directory, Alaska Black Chamber of Commerce, and Umoja Coworking & Incubator. The expo aims to promote economic empowerment, generational wealth building, business and professional career growth, and community empowerment. It also focuses on networking, accessing capital for businesses, and creating opportunities for young people. The event takes place at the Anchorage Museum in the United States and is the largest gathering of black-owned businesses in the State of Alaska. The expo offers a wide range of services and items, and its unique focus on various important topics makes it a valuable and diverse platform for the community.

TALIB KWELI

Talib Kweli Greene, born on October 3, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York, is a renowned American rapper celebrated for his insightful lyrics and social activism. He first gained widespread recognition in 1997 as part of the influential hip-hop duo Black Star, alongside fellow rapper Mos Def. Their collaboration produced the critically acclaimed album Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star, which played a significant role in shaping underground hip-hop.

Kweli's solo career took off with the release of his debut album Quality in 2002, followed by several other successful projects, including The Beautiful Struggle and Eardrum. Known for his lyrical prowess, he often addresses themes of social justice, race, and personal struggle in his music. In addition to his musical achievements, Kweli founded his own record label, Javotti Media, in 2011 to promote independent artists and thinkers.

Beyond music, Kweli is active in various social causes and has been a vocal advocate for education and civil rights. His contributions to hip-hop and society have solidified his status as one of the genre's most respected figures.

SHELEY SEACREST

Sheley Seacrest is an attorney based in Kent, Washington, with a focus on various areas of law, including criminal law, family law, employment discrimination, education law, and police misconduct claims.

She has over seven years of experience in the legal field and is currently affiliated with The Anderson Law Firm.

Seacrest possesses strong interpersonal skills, allowing her to effectively communicate and build relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds. She has served as a policy analyst for organizations such as the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle and the Alliance for a Just Society, where she contributed to social justice initiatives.

In addition to her legal practice, she has been involved in community oversight as a Review Board Member for the City of Seattle Office of Professional Accountability, where she worked on enhancing civilian oversight of law enforcement. Seacrest holds a Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from The Evergreen State College.
