Helpful Information from the Municipality of Anchorage Fire Department

Food Truck
Current AFD Food Truck Decal Required. Food truck vendors without a AFD Food truck Decal cannot operate within the MOA. A minimum 10-foot separation maintained between food truck and any other tent, canopies, structure, and combustible materials
Food Vendors Cooking Onsite

2A:10B:C fire extinguisher required to have an inspection tag from a licensed fire protection company, including new fire extinguishers. Extinguishers required to out and ready for use when vendors start to set up

K Class Fire Extinguisher is required in addition to 2A:10B:C fire extinguisher if the vendor has cooking equipment involving solid fuel (charcoal//wood) or deep fat frying with oil/fats.

If vendors are cooking under a tent/canopy the tent must have a legible permanently affixed label stating it meets NFPA 701 or State of California Fire Marshal requirements. Tent must have a non-combustible canopy & canopy must be non-combustible. Tent/canopy with cooking inside must also meet a minimum distance of 20 feet to other tents/canopies and combustible material must be

If vendor is not cooking under a tent/canopy the tent must have a legible permanently affixed label stating it meets NFPA 701, State of California Fire Marshal or CPAI-84 requirements.

All cooking involving open flame, fire, heat, use of flammable liquids, or gas charcoals, gas, charcoal must be a minimum 10 feet from tent /canopy.

Tent/canopies can not block access to hydrants, fire department connections or required fire lanes.

LPG (propane) tanks not connected to cooking equipment required to have a 10-foot connection hose between the flame and cooking equipment
